Introduction to the Accountability Post 2021 Week 03
The Winter 2021 anime season is fully underway, and I think I the editorial calendar at Crow’s World of Anime is set. That means I now have an idea of how much time I can spend writing these novels. If I’m lucky, if my family situation remains stable, and if I don’t oversleep, it looks like I might be able to get three days of writing in a week. This week, I tried that schedule, and here’re the numbers:
Well, I ain’t breaking any speed records, but I’m not stalled, either. The middle column is the total word count; the last column is the daily count.
The short version is that when I last updated you, I had 12,059 words. Now, I have 19,831. Today, I worked on Chapter 18, which I called “Seal of the Confessional.” No, it’s not a religious story, but I think it fits.
In fact, I had no idea that this scene would take place in St. Peter the Apostle Cathedral in Jackson, Mississippi. I’d designed that set for a plot that I decided didn’t fit in this book. But it fit this scene perfectly.
I think. You and the others will make the final decision!
Next Goals after This Accountability Post 2021 Week 03
I’m going to push for the three day writing cycle. I wrote four days this week because I had today (January 18, 2021) off from my main job. Given some of the themes I’m working with, I thought it was okay to write on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
It’s a little unreal to have 18 chapters and 19,831 words written. I hope they’re interesting words! Otherwise, this is going to be a colossal was of time…
I need to figure out how to increase the number of words I can write in a day. It’s not that I’m unhappy with about 1,000 words an hour. It’s that I’ve only been able to figure out how to give myself 2 hours a day, even on the weekends. My wife suggested that maybe I should back off my anime reviews. I’d prefer not to do that, because I’m just hitting stride with that site. Plus, I love fiction, and right now, anime is one of the most interesting sources of fiction. So, I’m going to look into other ways to increase the amount of time I have to write.
